About
Hi! I'm Noah Tankersley. I believe anybody with the desire can be a musician, whether casually or professionally. While some people may be farther along than others, we're all on the same path. Whether you're a new beginner or have some experience, I can help you along your path as a musician.
I am a professional musician with experience studying and performing in classical, jazz, and pop styles. I completed my music performance degree at North Central University with an emphasis on piano and a minor in guitar in May of 2020. During my time at NCU, I was honored to receive the first place prize in the college jazz combo competition at Eau Claire Jazz Festival two consecutive years (we were going for three, but the festival was canceled due to COVID-19), and I was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate in Performance. In addition to my school work, I have been playing for weddings, corporate events, and concerts as well as teaching private lessons since 2016.
I can teach you how to learn whatever style you like while ensuring you are using healthy technique that won't hold you back in your studies and applying music theory to help you learn and understand more quickly.
Music is a phenominal medium for both art and entertainment. Music can communicate emotions and convey stories and also just be fun for listening and moving.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With beginners, I want to make sure they get the fundamentals first and foremost to build healthy habits rather than fighting bad habits later. I like to get to know the student upfront and make sure we have a healthy mix of material designed to target and strengthen certain skills and material that the student just enjoys personally.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played piano for 18 years and have studied with highly accomplished musicians for the past 5 years. I am finishing up a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. While obtaining this degree, I studied various classical, jazz, and ethnic musical styles in depth while also learning the skills necessary to play in a pop cover band.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Remote video lessons: $20 per half hour lesson
Traveling lessons: $30 per half hour lesson
How did you get started teaching?
My first students were passed to me from a cousin who teaches piano. She gave me some pointers and got me started with my first batch of students.
