Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We like to help students build on their previous foundation. Because of this we walk through some fun exercises to help them and us determine what they already know and what we still get to learn with them!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teachers are highly trained music educators with extensive experience, training, and degrees in music. Many of our teachers also have their masters degrees.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
All of our tuition is monthly. A month's tuition varies depending on whether your class is group or private, and how long of a weekly lesson you sign up for.
What types of students have you worked with?
We've worked with all kinds of students! Young and old, novice and advanced, all walks of life! We love sharing music with everyone!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
our annual Halloween recital is coming up! We can't wait. We all play our favorite Halloween tunes while dressed in our costumes. All our moms and dads, grandparents and aunts and uncles come to cheer us on.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would look for a teacher whom I enjoy as a person. I would also make sure my new teacher shares my same goals and will help me reach my musical potential. It's very important that my new teacher has experience working with different ages, levels, and learning styles and that she or he has the credentials to be an effective teacher. Most of all, a good teacher loves music and wants to share that while making music a fun experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do I want to learn an instrument? Do I have time to devote to adequate practice each week? Will I be able to give this at least a year, knowing that learning an instrument takes time?
