I love to share the joy of all kinds of music with other musicians of all ages and abilities! With over 25 years of experience playing multiple instruments, and a focus on classical and jazz music, I bring a depth of knowledge to my teaching. Above all I am a great listener and can help bring your playing to the next level.

I have worked as a professional pianist and drummer and guitarist, and have been teaching voice and instruments for 15 years. I hold a bachelors degree in music performance and physics. I also teach production and audio techniques for a variety of recording software.

I look forward to helping you on your musical journey!

Rob has been a great fit for my boys ages 12 and 9. He very quickly determined their levels and helped them to feel proud of where they are and where they're going as individuals. He's a great teacher!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I want to get to know a student and their skill set first, and also really understand their goals in learning music. In this way I can tailor my training to their needs and help each student with personalized lessons that get them where they want to go musically.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a degree in music performance (percussion) and physics from UW Eau Claire and have studied piano and percussion from the age of 8.

I've had the pleasure to study with Jeff Crowell,  Steve Schick, Gregg Lohman (drummer for Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, and more), Patti Cudd (of Zeitgeist) and many other fantastic artists.

Ive worked as a sound engineer, sound designer and mixing engineer for the last 10 years.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$25 per lesson

How did you get started teaching?

My first teaching gig was for my high school choir program over 15 years ago. I began giving all the 1 on 1 men's voice lessons when I was a senior and have been teaching students ever since.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students from the age of 9 to 55, at all levels from beginner to advanced intermediate.
