About
We are the only traditional Filipino martial arts group in the St. Louis area, covering all ranges of fighting from standing to ground, with weapons or without. We focus on learning and applying self-defense, and carrying on a cultural legacy of the fighting arts. Our art is deep and comprehensive, and only those that have the dedication and resilience necessary will thrive.

I'v been training Filipino martial arts for over 20 years, and this art is the most comprehensive I've found. Even after all this time, I'm still finding lessons hidden in the art by the generations of maestros that developed it. I love sharing this art with those that appreciate its beauty and functionality, and watching those who had no confidence in themselves develop into fighters.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students schedule an introduction, in which they meet the instructors and try out a training session. GAT is a family art, and its practitioners are like family, so not all students fit. New students get personal instruction from each instructor, giving a brief glimpse of the art and how we train.
