Mac’s Guitar Studio
About
I teach guitar on an individual basis. Each student is different, which means that each lesson is different. My students age, ability and talent dictate the type of lesson plan and material I present to the student. Music and guitar theory, chords and scales, and songs that relate to the material for that lesson. I have been playing guitar for over 45 years and I have teaching for over 15 years. I would like to give to my students the same love for music and the ability to make music, as I do. Pay it forward or Play It Forward....
I get great joy teaching students of all ages, how to play the guitar. The guitar is part of my life and a part of me. It never gets mad at me for making bad chords. My guitar is always there for me, happy, sad or just bored. So, my mission is to teach it forward. When a student with no experience in music of any kind, gets to the area where the songs they are playing, sounds like the song they are playing. The happiness and joy I get is priceless.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On my first meeting with a new student, I sit and talk with him or her to find out what they like and what they are looking for. If they tell me they have had lessons or have been on You Tube, I ask them to play something. This is where I can determine their ability. I use popular songs for teaching, so knowing what the student likes, gives me the tools to keep them interested.
