About
Yogic postures, breathing, meditation and a philosophy of universal oneness existed in Egypt (Kemet) thousands of years ago. The poses and postures performed in Kemetic yoga are representative of carvings on the walls of ancient Egyptian temples, statues and hieroglyphic texts. They are in fact yoga postures and practices that are unique to this ancient African culture. Kemetic yoga is based on those same practices and philosophies.
It is restorative in nature and very helpful in managing stress by relaxing muscles, releasing tension and circulating life energy. Now's your chance to experience this ancient system of yoga for yourself! See what Kemetic yoga is all about.
We are a husband and wife yoga power couple who have completed not one, but two Kemetic yoga teacher training courses. We've attended several workshops including Soul Yoga Fest in Chicago, and have also traveled to Egypt (Kemet) to further our education. We recently added Kid's Yoga teacher to our list of achievements. We will forever be students!
We are currently teaching in Philly and South Jersey.
We LOVE how versatile Kemetic yoga is. Every student WILL find a challenge here. Every practice brings us closer to a good mood to say the least. Who doesn't like being in a good mood?
Kemetic yoga is SO great for awareness. You'll use your breathe, to relax and be present. Try it!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We like to begin relationships by being informed on any physical limitations. We start class with a few words on the history of this practice and some light instruction on methods to help you maximize the therapeutic effects of this practice. Class flows with direction, slow methodical breathing, light adjustments (if needed), NO FLEXIBILITY REQUIRED!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are both certified Kemetic Yoga Teachers (RYT- 200) and received a second certification for continuing our Kemetic yoga education.
We both attended a 200 hour intensive Kemetic Yoga Training session to deepen our practice.
Attended Land of Pharaohs Egypt (Kemet) tour

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The lanterns at the Chinese Lantern Festival were all incredible. There were mushrooms, dragons, fairies, panda bears, butterflies, terra cotta warriors, lotus flowers, tigers and many more paper creations lit up all over Franklin Square. The fountain looked more beautiful, than usual adorned by tall, illuminated tulips twinkling along its perimeter. Along one of the corners of the park was a display of life size terra cotta warrior lanterns. They were all lined up in formation waiting for directions from the general. The only one in full color, lit up in a sea of golden warriors.
