About
Hi! My name is Cason Day. I'm a guitarist living in New York City. I have been a guitar teacher for over seven years. My career thus far spans several albums and numerous live shows, including work in these genres:
-Rock
-Metal
-Pop
-Jazz
I love guitar and I want to help others harness that passion and become the best guitar player they can be!
I pride my teaching approach in being not only technical, but most importantly: FUN. I believe the most important part of guitar is enjoying it, and having a great time learning. I teach my students practical, effective techniques in a way that keeps them excited about their progress/playing.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work one-on-one with each student to find the best process for their individual development/goals. Different exercises and techniques work differently with each student, and I am dedicated to finding the best ones in order to help them succeed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to being a session and live player, I have also been teaching for over seven years. As a native of Houston, I have several students in the Texas area. I have gotten to work with many producers and artists during that time, and use my experience to be the best teacher possible. I also am a composer, with one feature film, one short film, and two musicals to date. I use my composition experience to teach the music theory side of guitar, as well as offering tips on songwriting.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always been very passionate about guitar, and love helping others harness and develop their passion for it too.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, from beginner to intermediate level guitar.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have some goals in mind. I always ask students their top three goals as a guitarist in order to determine the most effective structure of our lessons.
