FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I make my lessons fun and easy to follow. Patience and consistancy are vital elements in achieving success with all students. My moto is: If the student didn't learn, the teacher didn't teach.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have studied music since grade school. I have experience in both studio and performance. My passion is for taking a beginner student and building their confidence to become a more advance student.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I am open with my pricing system. I work with low-income families and students.

How did you get started teaching?

I returned to New York from Atlanta, Georgia to teach at the community center named after my grandmother Mary Mitchell.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with a variety of children from various communities. Music is the universal language of all people.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I like to prepare my students to perform at local community events and gatherings. I am currently preparing for an event on Aug. 5th at the Mary Mitchell Family and Youth Center to celebrate the life and centennial birthday of Mrs. Mary Mithell.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The best advice I would give to any student is to be patient, stay focused, and be prepared to work hard at accomplishing their goals.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should always consider their connection with their teacher, and be ready to establish a quality relationship with the instructor. Leave attitude and ego at the door!
