Music has always been a part of my life, and I have been a practicing pianist for the past 14 years. My specialty is working with kids ages 5 and up, and I have had over 5 years of experience teaching music to students. I also have experience playing the violin and viola, and would be happy to spend time with students interested in learning both the piano and those instruments. My teaching focuses on using games, ear training, and basic music theory to my students. I served as a music director at my alma mater, McGill University, for a small theater on campus and music directed the play "Tick Tick Boom!" while leading a small orchestra. I am an active composer and perform when I get the chance, and am always looking for ways to bring music performance to my community. Whether in your home or in mine, I will be happy to spend time with your child to help make them the best musician they can be.
At such young age, Mina's experience in teaching is impressive. She is very knowledgeable, and flexible to adjust to different levels: on our first class, Mina quickly adapted the lesson to match my skill level (I have been playing guitar for 15 years, but did not know much about piano). Mina focused on what I wanted to learn, which made it quite fun, while stressing the importance of understanding theory and developing good technique. I cannot recommend Mina enough, I would still be taking lessons with her had she not moved out of town.
Mina is outgoing, friendly, and taught me more than just music theory. She's an incredibly patient and understanding teacher and her positivity shines through in all her work. Thank you Mina!
