What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Guitar:
A student would learn very basic bits of music theory ythat would be demonstrated by songs they know and like. This will unlock music as well as the instrument. Ear training would be introduced early and notation if the student feels comfortable. This would allow the tudent to learn any music they like themselves , rather than a lick or part every lesson. They cam learn how to set a goal and reach it.
Pro Tools and engineering:
Most singers, songwriters jave no basic enginnering knowledge. I introduce those basic concepts as if the computer is their entire studio in a box. We then set up a template for the student to use every day as a starting point. It is customized for their " musical Lifestyle ". We then produce and record one of their songs start to finish. Thenot only learn how to but also get the added value of my involvement o their song and walk away with a pro recording.
