Zach Miller Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach:

I have been active in the local and national music scene for the better part of the past 9 years, and have been playing music most of my life. I have 15 years of experience on the guitar and almost 20 years of experience on drums. Because of the drum experience, I have a very rhythmic approach to guitar playing.

Jimmy Paige, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Townsend, Santana, Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, Van Halen, Kurt Cobain, Trey Anastasio, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Keith Richards, Zappa, Slash, The Edge, Jack White, Diamond Darrell, Kirk Hammet, BB King, Wes Montgomery, Randy Rhodes, Zakk Wylde, Greg Ginn, Prince, and the list goes on and on on and on.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

During the first lesson (which is always free of charge) I will evaluate the student's skill level and we will discuss what book and additional equipment the student will require to continue on with the lessons.

My guitar lessons are catered to the needs of the individual student. Some students are better at learning the step-by-step process of a book, and some respond better to learning some chords and doing things a little more independently. I am sure to be conscious of these different learning styles.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Anyone can learn this stuff, but to me a good student is someone who is focused, motivated and patient. Even if the student only has one or two of these qualities, over time, the student will possess all three.
