About this pro

I have a Master of Music in Music Education and a Certificate of Eligibility to teach Music in the State of New Jersey. I have taught privately and held music sessions while still in high school, and also have an absolutely solid understanding for music theory. I am adept in classical, jazz, pop, and rock styles. I received high commendations for my piano and percussion playing, and played percussion in honor bands, jazz bands, and orchestra pits. I am also a freelance guitarist and keyboardist for hire.

Given the nature of the job, I am very tolerant and eager to hear the student's perspective on how they wish to learn. For younger ones, I’ve been in their shoes, driving and eager to learn new things on an instrument. I have been currently following the trends of music for a long time and it definitely won’t be hard for me explain even the hardest of concepts to potential students.

Emile is amazing with my 8yo, I would highly recommend him.

Emile was great with both my kids. They both had a great first lesson. One is learning the guitar and my other child is learning the drums. It was really great to see my kids happy learning the instruments. He teaches step by step which really helps young children trying to learn music feel successful.

He was efficient, my daughter felt comfortable learning with him and learned the key names and songs, all fully within the first week. She only had one lesson a week so that’s definitely amazing in his end. Would recommend him to anyone especially young ones who need a calm teacher and for beginners.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I get to know the student, what they are into musically and try to adapt a song that they know and love in a way they can begin playing it alongside the basics.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Master of Music from William Paterson University in Music Education, specializing in Piano

Certificate of Elligibility to teach Music in the State of New Jersey

How did you get started teaching?

I had many music teachers throughout my lifetime and each of them had a way of teaching. I believe that my variety of instruments and methods will allow for flexible lessons.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with students of all ages and all instruments. Many of them have a goal of what they want to acheive as musicians.
