My goal is to provide students with a strong foundation in the artistry of guitar. I can help make the convoluted world of guitar less intimidating and implement a road-map to success. I have fifteen years of playing experience and a vast knowledge of technical exercises, basic and advanced harmony, chord playing and improvisation. I'm also a very busy gigging musician with tons of insight on live playing, and what it takes to be a true performer.Let me guide you through the rigorous journey of understanding the guitar and make you the best you can be!

Christian is an extremely experienced professional musician, rock solid musical chops and education, total command of the subject matter. Willing to work with students to develop custom lesson plans toward specific goals- and most importantly, encourages that students follow their greatest possible dreams and life within music- "go for it...it can all happen." To me, there is nothing more important in a teacher than that.

Extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, and patient. If you want to take lessons from the best, go to Christian!

I have had several lessons with Christian Colabelli, and after more than 30 years of guitar playing, I can genuinely say that it is truly an honor to study under him. He is an exceptional instructor who possesses an extremely valuable attribute that not all teachers have... he is genuinely interested, and is very much concerned about the student's understanding of the material and the student's progress. Christian will hang in there with you and make sure you're moving forward properly and developing good habits. Christian is the guy who has climbed to the very top of the Empire State Building (of guitar playing) and can see for miles around while the rest of us stand at street level looking at the sidewalk. He has traveled the path and can therefore streamline the learning process by providing the student with a proven Pedagogy for picking and specific fingerings for scales and patterns to expedite the student's forward progress. A huge aspect of guitar playing is how we see the fingerboard. If you're looking at the fingerboard wrong, it can potentially hold you back. Christian is a master at DE-mystifying the fingerboard so it can become user friendly and 'easy' for the student to see the information. When Christian shows you the correct way to look at the fingerboard, it will fast-track your progress - big time. I look forward to more lessons with Christian in the future because there is always something to learn and there is always the need to get better.

Christian broke down what I needed to worked on, acknowledged my strengths and weaknesses, helped me understand the melodic minor scale in great detail. Great lesson!
