Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I play a few pieces for a student to choose which one they prefer to work on. Then we start a process on learning the compositions - we start focusing on learning the notes , but right from the begining I address the issues of phrasing and character , always making sure that the process of learning each piece is inspiring and creative. With my adult students I make correlations with works of art and literature to make the process even more inspiring . With all the students I evoke imagery and speak about expresivity and character of the pieces , making self expression our primary focus .
