I use a song first approach which simply means I use songs to teach the basic concepts of guitar. In this way the student is playing music right away while also getting a musical foundation. I also offer a free 30 minute trial lesson.
I've taught guitar for over 20 years in New York and I am now teaching here in Virginia Beach. I love making music and I still remember the first time I was able to play a song completely on my own. This is what I look forward to when teaching new students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know a little about the student by asking questions about the students' musical likes and dislikes, favorite type of music, favorite bands, musicians and performers and what their goals are. Once those have been established I can start tailoring lesson plans to meet those goals. And most of all, make it fun!

Graduated from Fiorello H. La Guardia's School of Music & Arts
Played in many bands for over 20 years in New York City in countless venues
