What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When a new student approaches me, I always ask what their goals are along with any expiriance they may have. My approach always adapts to what a student wants to learn, and what skills they already have. I always make the lessons fun, engaging, and challenging. My number one priority is to have all of my students fall in love with music, from there I work on getting them to be able to play music they love, and fall in love with playing the piano.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in jazz piano performance from the New School in NYC, and am a Steinway partnered piano teacher. I have taught music for numerous summer programs, as well as teaching privately for ten years.
