I have played piano for over 50 years. I played professionally years ago but have been playing almost daily since then for my own pleasure and sometimes friends and family.
I have studied mostly privately with some excellent jazz and classical teachers:

I have given lessons over the years to adult groups, individual adults and young people. I have an easy-going attitude about teaching but still insist on my students practicing and showing mastery of lessons (that means practicing). Progress will come, but it's a subtle progress and only comes when quality practice time is put in using materials and music that I would provide. If a student has some basic technique and keyboard knowledge, I can help them improve their playing of popular or classical music and/or help them to begin playing blues and jazz.
I have also worked with my two children who became pretty good pianists and still enjoy playing for fun. And that is my goal, to get students to reach a certain level of proficiency so that they can have a lifetime of fun playing the piano.
