About

Hi there! I'm a rock recording artist doing music full time from opening for national artists, playing solo gigs to recording artists here in Upstate NY. I'm easy going and like to teach the "modern world" way of learning acoustic or electric guitar that can help with live shows and recording. Over 20 years of playing - If your looking for classically book training, I'm not the guy to go to but I do hit on some of those core ideas. I've never smoked and I have no alcohol. Straight edge.

Throughout my life working with various industry producers & members of signed acts, I've learned so much with experience. I'm personally big with studying how people play live and then learning by hear for the feel. It's the passion that starts first as I say and that's what I want to pass along to students hungry to learn. I recommend at least 20-30mins a day up to 2 hours. I hope I can be a positive inspiration. I play acoustic guitar, electric, bass, drums and sing.

BIO: Frank Palangi reignites the fuel on the genre that refuses to die. His gravelly, deep n gritty, vibrato voice delivers across a room with a charismatic charm. Whether it's an raw unplugged acoustic set or the full drive of the electric guitar, it's imprinted in his veins to rock with passion. Recording his first demos at the age of 15 and then playing music full time leading to his 1st EP release coming back from the studios in Nashville, his positive outlook on life is one of you don't just give up & you stay on it however long it takes. His mission statement is "I have no plan b in backing down on my dreams."

Finding the passion for music and production from the age of 13, he self taught guitar, bass, drums, recording, mixing with a style that tips the hat on the past 30 year evolution of the 80s & 90s rock & post grunge movement mixed with the taste of heavy metal. "I was a shy kid with health issues growing up so no sports and I turned to creative outlets instead. Learning from those past decades I wasn't going for the typical drinking, smashing hotel rooms as the rocker lifestyle is known for. It could be more about the music, the fans, and the drive to grow that draws you in and of course that rock n roll rebel yell feeling to stand up for yourself ." -FP

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Each student progresses at his or her own pace and there is nothin wrong with that. Going over somethin again and really focusing in on it is not a bad thing. Focus is also key with a student. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I stay personable and positive with my lessons and inspired by a recording type studio environment. Thank you very much. Hope to hear from you.

Frank offers great guitar lessons where you can learn at your own pace. He is always timely, patient, and respectful. He teaches a few fun riffs and songs along the way, instead of just focusing on scales. At the in-person lessons, he has even offered to replace guitar strings and offers useful tips on instrument maintenance. I have really enjoyed the songs I have learned to play so far. I would definitely recommend Franks lessons to anyone!

Let me first say that I am a 56 year old man that has always wanted to play the guitar, frustration and time is what shelved it for me. Until I started my lessons with Frank. Frank is very good at simplifying proper technique. His patient demeanor makes it fun. Frank has the ability to transfer his skill and knowledge, which makes it easier to believe in yourself. I have seen huge improvements from where I started.

    Frequently asked questions

The "Modern World" style as I call it. Things that will help with live shows & recording. Chords - Progressions - Riffs - Scales - Songs - Basic Theory - Tabs - Alternative Fingerings, Drop Tuning, Warm ups - which can branch out into song writing and recording techniques. I start out with the basics then focus on switching - getting your fingers moving/stretching - getting them ready for scales and riffs. Chord progessions and techniques of picking and strumming along with understanding timing/tempo and attention to movement. I don't teach much traditional guitar musical notes with staff reading (some if needbe). Guitar Tabs is the writing style I use for easy exercises. For advanced beginners to intermediate I can proceed with what you need help with by hearing your goals and what you'd like to cover and work on.

Self Taught Guitar/Bass/Drums/Singing/Recording over 20 years now.

Experience with playing solo gigs - national shows - opening band sets - studio recording techinquies and editing - session work - experience with national members from bands also in studio

$35 for 30 min lesson online or at my home studio

Around the start of 2018 - was slow in the winter time here in NY and was looking for somethin I could do to fill some time and help expand the budget for my original music.

    Beginners and Intermedaite

Question I'd ask myself is are you serious about spending hours learning an instrument and also knowing it requires maintence as well from time to time for parents knowledge that strings - chords - straps - cases - books - picks are required and the ability to help with their kids also is key after lessons.
