I have been involved with the music industry since I was a child. I reached a concert performance level on the piano at the age of ten and with my voice at the age of 15. I began composing music and playing jazz in my teens and soon was a regular at jazz clubs, restaurants, country clubs, and other venues around the country.I later attended the University of Michigan on a full athletic scholarship for tennis and graduated with a B.A. in Music Composition and Performance and also English. At Michigan I played on the Varsity Tennis Team, was the pianist for the jazz band and was a soloist for the Mens Glee Club. I also composed the Scores for 4 Student Films and many other works performed at the Music School Auditorium. After Michigan I attended Berklee School of Music in Boston where I maintained a 4.0 GPA, was selected to study with jazz icon, Bill Evans, was the pianist for one of the school's top performance bands, and was the keyboardist for a Rock Band called the Decoders.I began giving private piano and voice lessons at the age of 20 and have been teaching ever since. I have been contracted to teach at piano stores, schools, assisted living facilities, as well as at the universities I attended My emphasis is on the fundamentals and having fun. I can teach essentially any music genre my student is interested in pursuing. This is not a game to me. I continue with students who are only interested in practicing, learning, improving and enjoying the process.I have had the good fortune of being selected to perform for 2 United States Presidents and have performed with such artists as Aretha Franklin, Steely Dan, and many members of large municipal symphony orchestras. I am currently performing weekly at a local prominent Steakhouse, assisted living facilities and other clubs around the NYC area.
