He is patient, knowledgeable, kind, a good communicator, and has a good sense of humor. Also, he plays well too, which, is very helpful. And, he has a good musical back ground.

I am an older learner and Geoffrey has done a job great tailoring my lessons to my skill level and interests. We have a good time during our lessons. He is teaching me the basics but is also encouraging me to explore and play around with what Im learning! I highly recommend him!

Hi Everyone; I am 79, and I began taking guitar lessons with Geoffrey when I was about 72. Early on we played some public events. including Senior Centers & soon I will delivery my second CD for friends and family. Under Geoffrey Mays guidance and instruction my ability to improvise over any chord progression using the modes has improved dramatically. He listens to your goals and helps to structure a series of lessons that will help you get where you want to be. He has developed his own method for guitar instruction that is clear and understandable. He has a calm and even way of conveying musical ideas. He has the ability to play any style of music. He will show you what you need to do to play the songs you want to play and he will provide constructive criticism. If you put in the time to practice between lessons you will make appropriate progress. Geoffrey has helped me with both rhythm and lead guitar playing for my work in classic rock band, with a horn section. All of band members have commented on the improvement in my playing - so much so that the band is tackling more complex songs. I highly recommend Geoffrey Mays as a guitar instructor.
