About
I have a wide range of experience teaching different genres of guitar and have taught in music schools such as Oregon Music Academy, Bach to Rock, and for a period of time rented a studio from Vic's Guitar Cave in Forest Grove to teach my lessons. My lessons are heavily based on the ability to create songs yourself and apply music theory with the goal of being able to improvise, create, and understand the songs you want to learn.
I teach online free material on YouTube that covers some things. Here is a link to my YouTube Channel. This video is me teaching people how to play like a specific guitarist:

My inspiration thrives on the inspiration of the student. I want you to be able to take the concepts behind the music you love and understand them in a way that you can express yourself the way you want on the guitar. Whatever that means to you. I see that happen with students all of the time and that is what keeps me going.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We address your goals and find your insiration and we stick religiously to that inspiration. Theory knowledge and fundamentals are taught, but tightly revolved around what inspires you. I make myself available to my students even outside of sessions for guitar related questions and make sure we achieve all of our goals.

After classical private training, I have been teaching since 2010 consisting of indpendent guitar teaching, teaching through music schools such as Oregon Music Academy, Bach to Rock, and renting a studio from Vic's Guitar cave for a period of time. Through these experiences I have tought many children and adults with wide varieties of interests. I have experience teaching several people with disabilities as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I sell my lessons at $60 for a 45 minute session and $275 for a 5 lesson commitment. My one on one teaching can be done over Skype with recorded lessons that you have access to. I also do in-person lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I jumped into it in 2010 after being inspired by a friend of mine that tought music at a guitar store. He and I went on to play music live and that further lit my fire to teach.
What types of students have you worked with?
Through the music schools I have worked through and my independent teaching I have worked with children as young as 4 years old to elderly students and students with physical and mental disabilities. I have been in positions for long periods of time doing back-to-back lessons and have had a wide variety of students with a full spectrum of music interests.
