I have spent the past several years performing around the world on board various cruise ships for Princess, Celebrity, and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Originally from Long Island, New York, I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I lived until 2011. In June of 2015, I earned my Master of Music degree in jazz studies from Portland State University.
I cater to what my student's interests are and am happy to take suggestions for material they'd like to learn in lessons. At the same time, I feel it's my responsibility to draw from my background as a music professional and show the student material they may be unaware of.
I enjoy seeing my students make progress, develop a skill set and a feeling of accomplishment. I love it when my students tell me about playing in a band or going to a jam session. It shows me they are passionate about music and taking initiative to go to the next level, from individual practice to playing with others.
I have to say that Lance is a great teacher. he asks me what I want to accomplish and much to my amazement I accomplish it. He is patient hard-working and his talent is infectious. I was taking lessons from him in Massachusetts but now I take Skype lessons from him because he moved to Oregon. This has worked out absolutely perfect. I was worried that it wouldn't but his warm personality comes across exactly as it did when he was here and in a way it is even better because I don't have to travel back and forth to lessons which was not so great in the winter. I totally recommend Lance.....just make sure Lance still has time for me.
Lance is an awesome teacher. He is really good at guitar and will ask you about what the kind of things are that you want to learn. On top of that, he seems to be able to intuitively tell what level you are at and is able to give you stuff to push you past your limit to get better. Also, he is really easy going so you feel comfortable immediately. I would definitely recommend taking lessons from him. No doubt, he could teach you anything you want to know.
