Jeff is a wonderful guitar teacher. My son is a beginner and has been taking lessons from Jeff for almost a year, and he has really made progress! Jeff is patient and helpful. He is a very skilled guitar player as well as skilled teacher. His rates are great and he even comes to our house! We are very pleased.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to spend the first lesson getting to know the student and giving some very basic instruction depending on their current level.  We will also use that time to talk about goals and how to practice towards netting them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a B.A. in Music and an M.A. in Guitar Pedagogy.  I studied classical guitar throughout my college education while also performing jazz, gospel, rock, and r&b in and outside of college.  I have been performing for over 17 years and teaching for 10.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My typical in studio rates are:

$30 - 30 minutes

$45 - 45 minutes

$60 - 60 minutes

Lessons in the students home will vary in price depending on the distance.

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching guitar in a middle school after-school program several years before my formal music education.  This was my first experience teaching and it taught me a lot and has informed my progression up to this point.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
