Mike Dugan Guitar Lessons

Mike is a great instructor. His depth of experience and mastery of music theory combined with his patience and ability to clearly explain whatever lesson hes teaching makes for a very rewarding learning experience.

Ive been playing guitar since the late seventies and Im always on the quest to learn because the learning never ends. I came to Mike Dugan through his workshops at the Fab Lab at Northampton Community College. What I value most about Mikes teaching is that he focuses on helping students understand music theory as it applies to guitar, not just tablature or scales. Mikes teaching instills the perspective that if you understand the chord structure of a song, then youll know whats available scale wise at any point in the song, to use for playing accents, riffs, and solos. After decades of playing, even as a front man and lead guitar player and a two album recording artist, I still had a lot of holes in my understanding of guitar playing. Mikes teaching has literally changed my life as a guitarist, and Id recommend that anyone, from beginner to seasoned troubadour give Mikes lessons a try. You wont regret it!
