Hi name is Gerald and I am the owner and black belt Head Instructor at Karate Kickers Martial Arts Academy LLC. I have study many martial arts styles or systems(Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do ect.) I've been teaching over 10 years+ in places such as schools, daycares and churches. I was on the United States Martial Arts Team 2010 and won a Gold and Silver medal in Las Vegas. At Karate Kickers Martial Arts Academy we stand out because we don't just teach or instruct kicking and punching, but focus how Kids, Teens, and Adults can use martial arts values in there every day lives. Such as helping young children build confidence for school. Also help teach girls and women on how to develop awearness skills with using self-defence techniques.
What I enjoy most about the work I do is when I see that martial arts has changed children, teens, and adults lives in so many ways. For an example when a couple of my students had trouble with breaking a wooden board. They try to break the board ,but notices it doesn't break ,but with a little bit of encouragement he/she builds confidence and tries again and breaks it. At the end they have a BIG smile on their face knowing that they believed in themselves because they did not give up.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our typical process is that we offer a FREE one on one intro lesson with the student with the parent or adult. Which is pretty much about 15min-30mins long. In the intro lesson the student would learn the rules and basic classroom terms and skills in our dojang(Korean) for martial arts school to study and learn at. After intro lesson is complete student would have the option after enrolling to recive a FREE uniform.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
1) I have some early childhood education credits from DCCC.
2) I have all my clearances Child Abuse, Fingerprints, Criminal Record
3) I have a Black Belt Certificate
How did you get started teaching?
I worked(instruct) and trained under another martial arts school for 5 years from 2005.

I'm promoting my first Black belt student after 5yrs of commited to the school on July 8, 2017.
