About

I believe that learning music can be positive life altering experience. I teach not only how to play the songs that students enjoy, but also the techniques and theory behind them.

Watching students learn and grow, watching their excitement as they get down a song or lick that they worked on is incredibly satisfying.

Brian helped give me the foundation and tools needed to become the musician and composer that I am today. His patience and ability to break down the music I wanted to learn has helped me in my career as a composer. I highly recommend Brian in any musical capacity.

“I can’t imagine a guitar teacher better than Brian Cassidy! He gave me the tools I needed in order to crush opportunities as they presented themselves. Without Brian I never would have found myself sharing a stage with KISS and Aerosmith!!!”

Brian Cassidy is the kind of teacher that you remember for a lifetime. I had Brian as a guitar instructor at a difficult time in my life. My parents had been fighting constantly and were on the verge of their divorce and my guitar course was my only time away from the situation. Brian always took the time to cater his lessons to exactly what I wanted and did an excellent job of explaining things to me when I was having a hard time. I am proud to say that 20+ years later I still am a guitar player and that I learned so much not only about the instrument, but about being an entertainment industry professional from Brian, who was in a popular band at the time. I now work in the entertainment industry, have contributed music to some projects and was profoundly affected by his influence.

Brian Cassidy is by far one of the best musicians I’ve ever heard and I was lucky enough to have him as my teacher. His knowledge and skill are top of the line and he has taught me so much over the years. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be the musician I am today. I owe him for everything that I know about guitar!

    Frequently asked questions

It depends on the skill level of the student, for example: If a student has been playing a little while on their own I'll ask them to play something for me, a riff to a song or maybe a couple chords. I'll watch their technique as they play and evaluate where the student needs improvement and what the should begin working on first.

If it’s a new student that has never played before, I’ll show them how to hold the guitar, how to properly hold the pick, Some simple strumming and simple finger exercises etc.

I studied at Musicians' Intitute and Hollwood Canilfonia.
And I've been playing, recording, and teaching since 1992.
