About this pro

I offer high-quality music instruction from my home studio in Havertown, PA (on Hastings Ave., near St. Denis Church).

I have several years of experience teaching music both privately and for Silver Music Studios and for The School of Rock. I began my own personal music study at age six and have continued throughout my life, studying with Glen Lyons at West Chester University, and renowned music instructor and jazz guitarist Chuck Anderson. I also studied music at West Chester University and Montgomery County Community College. I was active in music during high school and received the Louis Anderson Jazz Award my senior year.

I currently focus my teaching on guitar, but I can also teach beginner piano and help with voice coaching. I teach the following styles and topics:

Rock (beginner to advanced)

Lead guitar

Folk/acoustic

Country

Classical

Basic Jazz

Songwriting and Music Theory

I enjoy passing along my musical experience to help people reach their musical potential. I enjoy working with anyone from total beginners to people who are looking to expand their musical horizons through structured lessons. I offer an easy to follow and diverse method that focuses on all aspects of guitar playing - from rhythm to lead, music theory and songwriting. I tailor my method to my students' needs and interests as well.

I've been taking guitar lessons with Dylan for about 4 1/2 years now. Dylan mixes in a combination of exercises to improve technique/coordination, learn chords, learn lead and rhythm guitar styles, with some music theory mixed in. And if you have certain goals you want to achieve, he'll be happy to adjust his lesson plan to help you achieve those goals. I highly recommend Dylan if you're looking to learn guitar or if you want to continue to improve your guitar skills.

My 9-year-old has been working with Dylan for a few months, and has made great strides in that time. Dylan keeps things fresh by introducing new songs and exercises, which build on previous lessons in a thoughtful, logical way. My son is always engaged. Dylan is an amazing teacher. I highly recommend him!

My 10 year old took lessons with Dylan. His lessons were fun and customized to what my son was interested in learning.
