I have been so fortunate to be involved in the music industry for the past 35 years. I spent the majority of the 2000s touring in a rock band and am very grateful for that experience. I have been teaching since 1995 and love to share my knowledge with students. I am equally comfortable teaching either guitar/music theory or audio production as they have been my two focuses since I began my journey in music at age 14. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals in music and sharing everything I have learned over the course of my journey.

I love sharing my experience and receive the greatest satisfaction from seeing my students succeed.

Steve knows so much about computers, while I am hopelessly inept. Hes been most patient, taking me step through step and sending additional information in multiple emails. I just hope Im not too taxing a student!

Steve is an extraordinary instructor; his knowledge of music - sound, technique, and theory (to name a few) - is seemingly boundless.
He is a dedicated and thoughtful teacher who is attentive to the level of skill and goals for each of his students. Above all, Steve is encouraging and patient - he will answer any question without hesitation and directs you to excellent resources to help you deepen your knowledge.
No matter where you are in learning the guitar or learning how to work in a studio, Steve will give you the tools you need to achieve your fullest potential.

    Frequently asked questions

I assess the student's current experience level and goals to create a plan to achieve those goals. I also ask the student for input regarding what she/he would like to learn, while always making music theory paramount to our work together.

I have been playing guitar and producing music for 35 years and have played close to 1000 live shows across the country. That experience has been invaluable. I also attended college at Saint Joseph's University and am grateful for the education that I received there.

I teach hourly weekly lessons at a rate of $75/hour. Monthly tuition is due on the first of the month in full. I truly feel hour lessons are more beneficial than half hour lessons. I am open to discussing a structure which is ideal for the student.

I am also open to longer seminar-type lessons as well as remote online lessions via Skype.

I began teaching while in college when friends began asking me for lessons. I then began teaching full time at a local music store. I truly enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge.

I have worked with all types of students from very young children to older adults at all experience levels. Many of my students have gone on to have rewarding careers in music.

Before the pandemic I attended the wedding of one of my best friends and a fellow bandmate from my days of touring. It was a beautiful ceremony in the Catskill Mountains in New York.

I would recommend hiring a teacher that has a foundation in music theory so the student can learn the fundamentals and foundation of music. Learning songs is fun but learning to craft them is even more rewarding.

Students should be very aware that they will get out of music exactly what they put in. Hard work is rewarded and learning an instrument is a committment that is very worthwhile.
