In the past five years she has lived in Louisiana, Minnesota, Texas, & California, and has now decided to make a home with her husband (and parents nearby) in Franklin, TN.
The lessons we absorb when learning an instrument can be carried with us through our whole lives. My philosophy of learning revolves around taking it slow, emphasizing positive self-talk, and adapting teaching style depending on how the student will best achieve success.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different types of students including special needs, adult students, retirees, visually impaired, ADHD, & Learning disabilities. The more students I have taught the more I feel learning an instrument is one of the most accessible, universal, and valuable skills out there.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
In regards to flute lessons: If you want to make progress quickly, I would avoid a teacher who teaches all woodwind instruments. The flute is a complete different beast from your average woodwind instrument. Someone who is specialized in the flute will be able to give you much more efficient and useful help.
