Sasha Klare-Ayvazian grew up in Northampton, MA where he began his musical career playing the clarinet in 2nd grade. From there, Sasha studied drums, guitar, and bass before ultimately dedicating himself to piano. Sasha has studied piano with Bill Wallace (Amherst College) and Jeff Hellmer (University of Texas at Austin). Sasha received a BA in music theory from Oberlin College and a MM in music and human learning from the University of Texas at Austin. Sasha currently lives in Austin where he composes music, performs regularly, and teaches piano.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Everyone is different. I believe in crafting an individual cirriculum to accommodate everyone's individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I possess a BA in music theory from Oberlin College and a MM in music education for the University of Texas at Austin.
I am a professionally licensed K-6 teacher in MA where I taught general music, band, and chorus.
Currently I work at the Armstrong Community Music School and the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

I charge one dollar per minute.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been teaching as long as I can remember. It's just part of my personality. I first wanted to be a teacher in snd grade.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from ages 5-65. All ages, all backgrounds, all ability levels are welcome!
