About
Hi there, my name is Zina Semenova. I am a founder of S.M.A.R.T. piano studio. In my studio, I teach private piano as well as music theory, solfege, and ear training subjects individually or in a small group setting.
I was born in a family of musicians in Russia and growing up, was surrounded by music. In addition to a public school, from the age 7 to 15, I went to music school and studied piano, choir, music theory, ear training, music literature as well as took private vocal lessons.
Later I graduated from College of Arts with a Pedagogical Degree in Music and Novosibirsk State Conservatory with an advanced Specialist Degree. In my teaching, I combine the best practices and methodologies from both European and American schools of piano instruction.
I have 5+ years of teaching experience and taught piano, solfege, music theory and music appreciation subjects privately and in the group settings. I am a member of MTNA & NPPA.
I believe that music education can be fun, easy to pick up and not that difficult to master.
In my introductory music lessons (units 1-5), I use a lot of fun games and other interactive materials that invoke student's curiosity and raise their motivation for music learning.
I believe that every student can enrich his/her personality through music art.
