Bryce Martinez Guitar Lessons

My name is Bryce Martinez and I am actively seeking passionate and curious students with an interest in music. At the age of 20, I've studied under numerous local musicians from all musical backgrounds, ranging from studying blues and jazz guitar from jazz musician Michael Shanks to learning unorthodox Eastern playing methods from Ahmed Garcia of Muse Oasis. I began playing guitar at the age of 8 after relocating from Houston and have since devoted most of my waking hours to the pursuit of music and music education. I'm currently studying Mass Communications at The University of Texas at Austin, where I am also working to receive a minor in music performance.

At the age of 12, I enrolled as a student at the School of Rock Austin, a FANTASTIC local program that encourages learning through music performance. Here, I fell in love with all aspects of the music industry and began to study electric guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals until I was 17. I began assisting summer camps and teaching lessons until I graduated high school, and have since been pursuing music in a professional setting.

I have played in countless local bands in addition to performing as an official SXSW artist, an ACL Festival artist, and touring the southwestern United States.

However, my love of music transcends my love of performance, which is what drew me to private instruction. I am versed in numerous styles and genres and will accommodate for all individual student interests. I do not seek to mold others into something they don't want to be- rather, I seek to foster the musical development of each student in the manner in which they desire. I'm open to learning and teaching anything at all, and will work hard to make sure the needs of my students are met.
