Two of my favorite things in this business include, the day when a student discovers they can play. A light bulb lights for the first time. Their confidence explodes and they go from learning one song in a month to three songs an hour.
The second, We have been teaching for over thirty years. So now I have taught kids who have become parents, their kids, and started to touch on some third generations. It is a true honor to be a part of some people's families for that long.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We can take an absolute beginner, and start them off right. With over 25% of our students, now being "Musicians for Hire", We'll get a firm foundation of your mastery of your instrument.
Even if you just want to play for yourself, or family on the Holidays, You'll be ready.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started teaching at 16, been playing on stage off and on since 17. Both sides of my family have played music, it's what we do.
I've been a songwriter for over 30 years too. So lets get together and put your songs to music.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We are $40 an hour lesson. Like most teachers who charge $20 for a thirty minute lesson, I still feel that's not enough time to get settled in, get tuned up and learn a thing or two.
But NOT like the other teachers, WE COME to YOU! So parents dont have to make arrangements, So you dont have to travel to a teacher.
How did you get started teaching?
After growing up in Music, Church and School, I was totally consumed by it. So at 16, I started sharing my knowledge with my Friends, that led to making Money Teaching, and I've been doing it ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
We teach the absolute Beginner, who has never touch an instrument, to a seasoned player learning a different style.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We just played at the Oskar Blues Brewery for HAAM Day and two days before that, We did a Benefit for a fellow musician who is undergoing some medical issues.
But every year you can find us at Brooks Army Medical Center (BAMC) playing for the Troops and Children at the Hospital or "Rockin' the Kettle" for the Salvation Army around Austin.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's always fun to play the hour or so with me, But to master your craft, You must practice when I'm not there.
This Gift of Music, You'll will get out of it, What you put in it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
We teach what are student is into. There's no "Row, Row, Row your boat" taught here. You'd never practice that.
If you're in to Country, Let's Twang! If you're into Rock, Let's Rock. That way I know you know the song, and how it goes in your head. In a few minutes, You're playing your favorite song.
