Sierra Bernal Music Lessons
About
I've had my original songs play on over 50 radio stations. I've been playing guitar and songwriting for 8/9 years. I've taken lessons and I've been self taught; so with experiencing different teaching and musical styles, I really try to keep in mind how I and my students enjoy learning when I build my lesson plans. :)
Side note: I give well put together lessons and notes. I don't just fill time, I actually care about your goals and your learning.
It's very fun and enjoyable for me to help others find their own musical voice! Especially once I found my own, I became really big on helping people find their own sound. I've taught a variety of ages and a variety of styles. I simply love music! I've done the neurotic analyzing for you, all you have to do is set up a lesson. :)

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I base every lesson off of each student’s personal musical goals. My job is to help you fulfill those goals and grow to new ones. :)

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've had my original songs play on over 50 radio stations. I've been playing guitar and songwriting for 8/9 years. I've taught a variety of ages and a variety of styles. I've been teaching music for a few years now, but with the wildness of 2020, I figured it would be a great time to be get to show more people the joys of their own musical expression. :)
Side note: I'm a member of the CMA, I've received the Rising Star Award of the CMA of Texas, and I also songwrite for a publishing company.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching a few years ago, I simply knew people that wanted to learn. I'm not stingy with what I've learned throughout the years, so when I started I would teach people for free. I found that it was a good way to test out different teaching exercises. I've always enjoyed seeing how happy people are when they achieve and surpass their musical goals. However, as I got more busy and as my original students started to not really need as many lessons; I figured I'd start teaching more people. Nowadays, in order to do that, I do have to charge the rates that I have, but I know that what you’ll be getting is well worth the price.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've taught a variety of ages and styles. I don't think there's really a limit to when one can learn to play music. :)
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Last week, one of my students (15 years old) sang a melody and a lyric that she had written herself for the very first time ever! It was very exciting watching her overcome her stage freight and to see how proud of herself she was.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If I was a student looking for a teacher, these are the questions I would ask myself.
•What are my musical goals?
•Who are my musical inspirations?
•What's my ideal price range and am I willing to go over that for the right teacher?
•Does my teacher care as much as I do?
