Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, our clients enjoy a spacious, professional parent's lounge with Wifi.  We also provide large observation windows on every door so that you can watch your child's lesson while you wait. Or if you prefer you can sit in on their lesson anytime you like.

7. Free music recitals in world class music halls and
 our annual rock band showcase!

We are one of the only music schools in DFW that offers free student performances & our own in-house professional performance venues at each of our facilities as well as performances all over the metroplex.

Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.

With more than 17 scheduled performances a year, there is a multitude of free performance opportunities for our students. We hold some at our own locations but select groups of students will have the opportunity to perform in outside real live gigs and venues to help build their confidence.

For our students these recitals are free and unlike many schools in DFW we do not charge recital participation or admission fees.

8. We also host our Soulapalooza Concerts 3 times a year including a Battle of the Bands, which gives your child the opportunity to play in a real live rock band!

We have one of DFW's most established and recognized rock band programs for kids and teens since 2006. Your child will love the opportunity to rock out on the big stage. You are encouraged to bring your family and friends to the show for free to share in the fun!

9. Professional office staff six days a week to serve you.

Many music studio desks are staffed by the teacher/owner or more commonly an answering machine. We have three office team members who are available at the front desk to assist our clients quickly and professionally.

10. Early morning and lunch time lessons for home schoolers, retirees, college students and working professionals.

Since we are one of the largest schools in DFW, we are able to be a 'full service' music school. This allows us to offer lessons as early as 9 a.m. and we see many students between the hours of 11 a.m.-2 p.m. If you are a home school parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our early morning and lunch time lesson spots.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We love to see people grow within our creative soul family.  It's not always about learning music but building confidence, relating to others and feeling accepted for your unique gifts and talents.  Everyone has them, we find them and have fun developing them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our instructor have Bachelors Degrees or up to 20 years of performance and teaching experience from some of the top colleges in the music field such as University of North Texas, Texas Womans and Berklee College of Music.

Most important is that our instructors are patient and fun.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

We have very transparent prices unlike other places.  Our performances, Trophy system and every Saturday Master Class is included in our prices.  It is $125 a month for 30 minutes once a week or $250 for an hour once a week.

How did you get started teaching?

I started to learn piano when I was 17.  I was not gifted but I had a love of music.  I was also extremely anxious about performing in front of others.  The love of learning music helped me understand discipline and how to accomplish my goals.  I practiced 6-8 hours a day and had many good teachers, attended University of North Texas and enrolled into their music program.  I graduated with a degree in Hospitality but my learning the love of teaching started when I left to Seattle, Washington where I became a piano teacher.  I specialized in Blues, Rock and Jazz.  It was my dream job.  I would rather teach then do anything else.  Then I attended a few group sessions where I played with others and thought my students need to play in groups.  I moved back to Fort Worth Texas and opened up Creative Soul School of Music.

What types of students have you worked with?

We teach babies to adults.  We have worked with every type of a student from the complete beginner to the advanced professional who needs to sharpen their skills.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We had a child name Zac come in and he wanted to learn guitar.  He was super shy and was interested in doing our Rock Camp.  I met with him and his Mom and thought he is really going to like this camp.  I can tell he was intimidated.  I called his Mom and he said he didn't want to do it.  I knew he was just scared of the unknown.  His mom convinced him to try the camp which was a huge success.  Zac went from never touching a guitar to playing and singing in 1 week.  Fast forward to 2 years later, Zac is one of our best guitar students and inspires other kids to practice and learn.  Love this story!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

This is a people business.  Learning music can be vulnerable and it's essential to pick your mentors that love to teach, encouraging and are very knowledgeable.

Get into a community, learning music side by side with others of the same interest.  This is learning by immersion and will help you grow exponentially faster then youtube or private lessons.
