About this pro

I have healed my body through a consistent yoga paractice after breaking my back in 2004. Yin is for students who would like to increase their mobility, flexibility, exercise the ligaments, and regain strength and space in the joints. Yin is a great compliment to other styles of yoga, and has become more of a mainstream exercise for athletes.

I get to see students of all ages and sizes change their bodies and their lives for the better. I get inspired by that everyday.

Shelly introduces me to Yin Yoga and I love it! Shelly is an excellent instructor. Her voice is quiet & soothing while she explains all poses clearly. She provides variations for those with injuries or less flexible. At the end my body and kind feel peaceful & relaxed.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I find out what each individual students needs and goals are, and work with them on an individual level to help them attain those goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a certified Yin Yoga Instructor. I have been teaching 1 1/2 years at Bikram Yoga North Texas Grapevine and Arlington, Private Lessons, and SoulPeace Yoga Retreats.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $50.00 for a 60 minute private lesson and $25.00 for a 30 minute lesson. There will be open meditation first part of class and we will flow between 7 and 8 postures. Postures are done on the floor with hold times of 3 to 5 minutes. Holding postures for longer periods helps break up scar tissue, adhesions, lubricates the joints, and breaks up unnecessary fascia.

How did you get started teaching?

I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. I began my practice after a severe spinal injury. After a year of healing I tried yoga. At that time, I had no insurance for physical therapy, so I decided to do my own rehabilitation through yoga. After many years of practice and my passion for the art, I knew I wanted to teach, share my story, and what I’ve learned to help other students.

Namaste 🙏

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with all age ranges, sizes, and students with injuries.
