Willysage Guitar Institute

Hey there! I'm Willysage, from Willysage Guitar Institute. I've been teaching acoustic guitar for 15 years, and had over 300 students. Many have been with me for years.

But success didn't exactly come easily.

I was a prodigy drummer during my elementary years, but had never played a guitar until I bought a guitar when I was 20. Within 3 months, I had written over 30 songs while teaching myself how to play. I began performing around town, playing exclusively the songs I had written (I didn't know any covers, as opposed to now, where u play 2 to 3 hours of Classic Rock on my acoustic.)

Eventually as a youngster, I pursued Education, received 3 Master Degrees, taught high school 15 years, and spent several years as a Psychotherapist.

Then I turned 50, and had always felt bad about not pursuing this great gift I had for music...so I dropped everything, packed up my car, and moved to Dallas to play music. I literally pulled into downtown Dallas, went to the middle of town, and began performing on the streets for a whole year, living in my car, and barely getting by. It took me a full year before I started to make a living, playing gigs, and writing songs for other artists.. but ur wasn't until I began teaching beginning/intermediate Guitar Lessons, that things turned around...and the rest is history.

I'm very different from most Guitar Teachers. I don't teach much music theory, or how to read music...but what I do, is teach u how to play by learning ALL YOUR FAVORITE SONGS.

I will do in-person Guitar Lessons if you're close to Burleson Tx. However, most of my students learn from me online. I had students from ages 6 to

80, and will also teach in pairs if someone requests it.
