About
Galyna Koerkenmeier is an accomplished, classically-trained pianist. Her life has been dedicated to music and her instrument – the piano. She has shared her admiration and appreciation of this instrument with her students for over two decades.
She has her Master Degree in Piano Performance, Education and Chamber Music from Ural State Conservatoire, Russia, and her Bachelor Degree in Solo Piano, Accompaniment and Instruction with Honors from Dnipropetrovsk State College of Music, Ukraine.
Mrs. Koerkenmeier studied with famous musicians and teachers in the former Soviet Union and is highly influenced by centuries old traditions ofRussian and European music schools. She enhanced her knowledge in post-graduate courses with the leading professors of Russian Academy by Gnessin, Moscow, College of Music under Moscow Conservatoire and National Music Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine.
For over twenty years she has taught college students majoring in piano as well as children in the Music School for Gifted Children. Many of her students dedicated their lives to music and continued their music education throughout Eastern and Western Europe. They have become excellent musicians, professional solo piano players, accompanists, and piano teachers. Many of them received national and international awards in various piano competitions. At the same time, Mrs. Koerkenmeier has had extensive public performances as a piano soloist and chamber musician as well as an coach to vocalists and instrumentalists.

I've worked with all level of students. Starting from 5 years old beginners to teaching college students majoring in piano.

Two of my Studio recent graduates received AMTA scholarship to study music in Colledges.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher with education and performing experience in your chosen instrument. Ask to visit Studio Recital to see level of students' performance.
