MAESTRO DAVID R. ANAVITARTE dedicates his life to giving God all the glory through the art of music. His musical journey began at age seven, the piano was his first musical instrument. David spent many evenings in Philadelphia, watching the Philadelphia Orchestra rehearse as a child. He has a passion for music and music excellence.
David is Music Director and Conductor of the Bosque Chorale. The Bosque Chorale is part of the Civic Music Association of the Bosque Arts Center in Clifton, TX.
David has studied conducting with American greats Paul Salamunovich, Ray Robinson, Jon Robertson, Daryl One, and Jim Dearing. He is in demand as a Conductor and Clinician as well as leading workshops in worship. He maintains an active voice and piano studio.
David attributes his understanding of the choral and orchestral sound to his mentor, teacher, and good friend, the late Maestro Paul Salamunovich, who died April 3, 2014.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Voice lessons - test the voice; what is good about the voice & and what are the issues. Then begin work on the air technique.......
Piano lessons - test the hands; what does the technique look like & sound like. Define the playing ability (level). Then begin work on technique......
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied the art of the piano as a performer & teacher for 50 years which includes graduate level study.
I have studied the vocal art as developed by Joseph Klein. This has recognized me as a voice technician and a vocal coach for over 45 years.
I have studied the voice through choral conducting at the doctorate level (ABD); As a Music Director/Conductor of a semi pro choir; My sense of vocal/choral sound has been developed through many years of private study with my friend & mentor, the late Maestro Paul Salamunovich, Roger Wagner's long time assistant of the famed Roger Wagner Chorale. I have also developed and conduct a chamber orchestra for over the last 30 years. Preparing repertoire from all styles.

$40 per half hour lesson @ once a week;
biweekly price of $50 half hour lesson;
monthly price of $75 a single half hour lesson;
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching during my undergraduate studies and have continued to do so ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught piano/voice to students of all ages - as young as 6 & as old as 90.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Preparing the choirs & orchestra for 3 performances of the oratorio: 'Elijah' by Felix Mendelssohn.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you ask questions about:
what technique is being taught;
how will I benefit from the technique;
what is the background of the teacher;
