Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will get to know my client in the first session by testing their skill level in all facets of the game and move on from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been coaching and training athletes for seven years now. I began my coaching career with the International Sports Training Institute (ISTI), where I coached kids on a one-on-one basis and in a group setting to help them improve their basketball skills. While working at ISTI, I was selected as the Head Basketball Coach for the Houston Maccabi 13-14U team to prepare the kids to compete in a summer tournament. I also instructed a basketball class to two separate age groups at the Jewish Community Center (JCC). The program lasted for fifteen weeks. The first group of students were ages Pre-K to 3rd grade and the second group were ages 4th to 6th grade. For the first 5 weeks I instructed kids on how to dribble, shoot, pass and perform layups. From week 5-10, I coached the kids on how to play defense, pivoting, rebounding and the basic rules of the game. To conclude the program, in the last 5 weeks I taught the kids more advanced dribble and ball handling moves, how to perfect their shooting forms, and dribble drive moves and pick and roll offense. I have a certification in personal training and in sports performance training from NASM.

What types of students have you worked with?
All ages but mostly elementary and middle schoolers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Select someone who can coach you up not coach you down. A good coach/trainer knows how to give understandable instructions that the student can perform and knows how to adjust on the fly.
