About

Davis Piano Studio opened in Round Rock in May 2019 prior to that April Davis taught students in Oklahoma and Louisiana over a span of 20 years. April focuses on the performance of classical and sacred music and has won many awards from pageants to solo performance at the state level.

Here's what people are saying about Davis Piano Studio:

"April is an awesome teacher! She is very patient, and great with communication so that I know how my son is progressing with his lessons at all times. I highly recommend her!" Julie Anne Sanford

"Piano lessons are going so much better than I had even hoped for! My child sometimes has a difficult time persevering when she isn't immediately good at something. Her instructor has done such a good job of keeping her interested and involved in her goals, I'm thrilled with her progress" Heather Snaman French

Frequently asked questions

I start with an audition that allows me to assess current level, learning style, and communication preference. Based on that, a current, cutting edge method series will be chosen and provided along with additional music theory workbooks and supplemental material (included at no additional cost). We meet weekly for 30 minutes following the RRISD calendar for holidays.

I studied Music Performance at Carl Albert State College before moving on to Louisiana State University in Shreveport to get my business degree in Financial Analysis with emphasis in International Communication. As a member of the Music Teachers National Association, I receive lots of continuing education and get additional training in topics of interest like teaching non-neurotypical presenting children.

Lessons are $120/monthly and based on 18 lessons per semester/36 lessons per school year.

Lessons are paid monthly on the 25th of each month for the next month. Card information is stored securely with Stripe and is never seen by staff. It can be updated at any time on the Student Portal by the student or parent.

I started teaching piano 20 years ago to kids in my church in Oklahoma because they were interested and I made it fun. I loved it so much then and it is just as amazing to be able to do this today!

I have worked with children and adults. I've worked with a lot of children who deal with ADHD (and a wide variety of the different ways ADHD presents itself).

Presently, 100% of my students fall into the non-neurotypical, gifted, bright, and hard-working category.

One of my students was struggling with a piece. It wasn't overly challenging, but it may not have been the most interesting piece to her. It also had some key elements that she needed to conquer before we could really move on.

Instead of plowing through, we took a small detour and learned by rote some of the same concepts in another piece that she loved and had learned earlier. In other words, we leveled up another song and because the song wasn't written that way, she learned it without reading music.

Something clicked! She came back the next week with the piece that was a struggle now performed flawlessly and her mom was super excited too because now the whole family could play the other piece. She had taught them all this fun new thing!
