Sensei Chad Haas is a 6th Dan Black Belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. He has been teaching Judo and Jiu-Jitsu int eh Round Rock area for 25 Years and has experience teaching Police, Fire, EMS professionals for 15 Years.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We first find out what their needs are, then we start of with the basics and fundemental foundational work so they can fully participate. The training is tailored to what the studentis looking for. Police, Fire, and EMS professionals get more specific training. People who want just pure Self-Defense get more specialized training. Sensei Haas runs integrated classes, where some groups are working different techniques or scenarios while others are working completely different techniques or scenarios.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Starting Judo and Jiu-Jitsu training in the early 90s under Sensei Zdenek Matl, who is an international Judo Champion and was with the Czech Special Forces. I have been teaching as an Adjunct Instructor for the UT Systems Police for the past 15 Years. The UT Systems Police is the 3rd large Police Force in Texas only behind DPS and Texas Parks & Wildlife (Game Wardens). I have also working with small groups of FBI Special Agents as well as individuals who work for the Secret Service, Border Patrol, and many other organizations.

How did you get started teaching?
I was learning at an acceptional pace and Sensei Matl, 7th Dan Black Belt at the time, said that he wanted me to start teaching for him in the Round Rock location. He wanted me to teach the Begginner and Intermediate classes.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of preople ranging from kids, to older folks. Our primary students population are Teens and up. The Adults are highly educated business professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In December of 2018, I received my 6th Dan Black Belt (Rokudan) from Sensei Zdenek Matl. It was a very special day because he doesn't promote may people to that level and for me to make it there is an absolute honor.
