What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Hi my name is Sonny Mendez, I see that you are wanting guitar lessons. That's great!

I teach, theory, song writing and improvisational skills including rhythms and/or leads and will have you learning some cool music in no time. This will depend at what stage or level you currently are in. Feel free to let me know if you prefer one on one instruction or online. I recommend the one on one for several times, maybe 3 or 4 times and then some online instruction as well. For online instruction. I use Skype or FaceTime  Using online lessons also helps because I do travel sometimes and its easier to stay on track with the lessons as well. The price for online is a bit more affordable and can be a bit more flexible, time wise.

I usually teach for 30 yo 45 minutes and use 10 to 15 minutes to review and provide homework studies as well.

You will need a #2 pencil and a notebook to start with.

Thank you for considering me and wish you all the best. 210-504-9240. Please leave ir text me a small message.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ive been playeing guitar, bass and doing vocals for the last 45 years. Ive played as a touring musician for about 10 years. I currently love teaching students of all ages especially online. Its way to much fun!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $30.00 for 30 to 45 minute online lesson

First lesson is free of charge.

I'll change $55.00 to drive to meet the student for a . 45 minute lesson.

I do ask to get paid a lesson at a time before the lesson is scheduled once the we agree on a price, time  and location.

How did you get started teaching?

Way back when the internet and YouTube didn't exist... I started playing guitar by ear. As I progressed I took lessons at a local university and studied piano and voice!

I also played in local bands and became a professional session studio musician!

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with students as young as 5 to 70 years of age.
