Nearly 40 years experience. Former students have become classical pianists, rock stars, Broadway performers. In addition to piano, students learn music theory, improvising techniques, sight reading - the skills they need to perform. Voice is available for those who are taking piano lessons. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach note reading and rhythm counting. A little later comes classical literature, jazz compositions, pop and Broadway songs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have college degrees in musicology and music composition and had instruction in piano, pipe organ and harpsichord. I am an award winning music director of community theater musicals and an award winning composer. My piano compositions have been published by Warner Bros. Pub. and others. I have been music director at several churches. I regularly perform on the piano for society events, fundraisers and private parties.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching piano, voice and guitar at the Ft. Sam Houston Youth Center, East Central ISD Community Education, the Chandler Senior Center, and the Jewish Community Center.
What types of students have you worked with?
The brilliant and the slow learners get equal attention from me.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently performed the Meditation of Thais in a classical trio. I performed at the piano, Bruce Johnson, former CEO of the San Antonio Symphony played the pipe organ, and Eric Gratz, the Concert Master of the SA Symphony played violin.
