About
I only try to take more advanced students that want to learn how to perform, get road ready. I've been playing music my whole life, I'm 61, and have toured and played large and small venues. I write my own music, play guitar, lead guitar, rock, rockabilly, folk, and country and am always the main vocalist but well trained in harmonies and backup vocals as well. I like high energy music. Mostly I can teach you how to teach yourself and learn whatever music you want to learn. Call and let's chat, see what your goals are and if it's a good fit. If it's vocals, you will become stronger, more in control, and mean what you sing when you sing it. I don't do much pop.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, figuring out what the student wants out of the lessons and coming up with a game plan to get there. I'm not one of those teachers that make you do scales although I will when you are ready. I feel like a student who learns a few songs that they like and can handle so they can regale their friends and family. That is somebody that will stick with it and get more enhjoyment out of playing. We'll talk through the details as needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Played classical cello from 4th to 9th grade. Played in the Northern Virginia Symphoney Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in 8th grade. Always played guitar. Been in a band since high school. Played in a Roy Orbison Tribute band and toured the western states for 9 years. Played out so many times and at so many places, lost count many years ago. I play just about every day. I have 3 CDs of great music I have written. I have a studio with guitars, amps, drums, etc. that I teach from.
