Music, Math, And Science By James Geraci

I am a highly-trained mechanical engineer with three Grammy/Latin Grammy nominations and nearly twenty years of teaching experience both in private-lesson settings and group/classroom settings. I love getting to know new students of all levels and backgrounds. My biggest reward as an instructor is watching the kids and adults I teach grow in their chosen instrument or subject area and be able to put what they learn to practice.

I enjoy helping students discover and reach their potential. I have a bachelor's of music in jazz composition which gives me the added advantage of being able to impart my intimate knowledge of music theory and composition to my students. But I also have a bachelor's of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. I graduated at the top of my class, and those I tutored during that time excelled as well.

In addition to music and engineering, I am also a creative writing and technical writing expert. My wife and I are award-winning screenwriters with several movies written by us in the process of film production. Our method has been extreme clarity of thought and organization on the page which applies in any written situation. As a mechanical engineer at Cummins Inc, I had to put forth large technical documents on a weekly basis for projects dealing with hundreds of millions of dollars. The expertise I developed during that time has taught me how to be precise with my wording and enlighten not confuse the reader.
