About
My goal as a teacher is to deliver inspiring music lessons in a relaxed, supportive environment that follows the creative and personal interests of the student, while also teaching necessary music fundamentals. All ages are welcome, from kids to adults.
Emphasis is placed on subjects such as note reading (standard notation and TAB), theory (chords, scales, intervals, rhythms), ear training, technique, improvisation, learning songs, and listening to music/expanding our listening palette. Teaching materials are available for students to use, including both method books and personalized handouts.
I have been playing and listening to music since a young age, and had the privlege of studying with some wonderful teachers, both privately and through education. I've been living in SF for almost a decade, and graduated from SFSU in 2015 with a BA in music. For five years, I was teaching full time at a local music studio before starting my own. I continue to play with various bands and musicians, write music, and expand my musical studies as it is a continuous journey!
The studio is cozy but professional, and equipped with amplification, electric drums, and a weighted keyboard for student use. The studio also has a small waiting area and a restroom.
