With 40 years teaching and touring experience, Bill can teach a variety of styles be it rock funk blues pop or folk in a fun atmosphere. From beginner to pro either guitar or bass TAB or reading music manuscript charts, Bill teaches his students how to be their own prolific guitarist harnessing their own style with sophisticated harmonies and techniques. Bill C Ireton has the ability to instantly elevate the proceedings on any lesson or session by channeling the spirits of his own personal guitar heroes, George Benson to Larry Carlton, as well as Jimi Hendrix to Joe Satriani.
Based out of the SF Bay Area, Bill C Ireton, has performed various styles of music ranging from gritty rock and funk to sultry smooth and jazz in a variety of bands and ensembles touring the US and Europe. He has played with and rubbed elbows with the likes of Walter Trout and Buddy Guy in the blues arena to Steve Erquiaga and Mike Stern in the Jazz arena.

I like to find out what level the student is at then gear them towards music they enjoy or want to learn.

How did you get started teaching?
Once I was involved with performing and recording I felt the need to be able to teach what I learned and share it with others.

My CD Release party of my latest album, Come Home To Me, in April odf 2020 was very special as it gave people something to listen to while being locked down from the epidemic. You can find it on all social media platforms if interested.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just be open and learn as much as you can.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What and where do they want go with their instrument. Is it just a hobby or do they want to take it to the professional realm. Each avenue has a different path of learning.
