Main goals for myself are to help students enjoy Music without worrying. Satisfaction for me is when the students face lights up when they are able to play a previous lesson.

Ive only had a couple of lessons, but he is responsive to my needs and is encouraging when Im successful at new things. He suggests good exercises based on my skill level. As a new bassist, I have a lot of confidence hell continue to challenge me. Much better than previous instructors Ive had at the big box music stores in the past.

Alex and I have had one lesson so far. I am looking forward to the second. Having the music class at my place is very nice. Alex is, patient, an excellent guitarist, and is able to explain ideas clearly.

    Frequently asked questions

Initially will setup lesson plans for first 3 cycles of instruction. Lessons are one hour, once a week.

Based on level of experience or if a complete beginner, will use simple songs to learn chords and develop left hand fingers.

After that, then we will progress to another level which is where customized plans are developed.

seven straight years working with current students has allowed me to focus on patience and consistent lesson plans.

Billing cycles are based on a standard 4 week interval. One payment required at the start of first lesson of each new cycle.

Standard hourly price is $45 per hour.  However, if you use this website, I've set the price to $40.

A friend at work asked if I could teach both him and his son. Once I started, all my additonal students were referred by word of mouth from other friends.

I work with beginner, intermediate and a few advanced students for now. For advanced students, I have to limit to only 2 at a time.

My first student was interested in me teaching him to read standard music notation. In a year's time frame he is able read the music I use in new lessons. The last cycle we were able to read through 15 Christmas songs in one evening.

When selecting a teacher, make arrangements to meet in person to review short and long term goals of learning a musical instrument. Pricing should only be used as the last criteria before making a final decision. It's important to insure your instructor is patient and willing to challenge students to setup a practice routine that will fit their current schedule.

If a student needs an instrument, have instructor give recommendations based on the musical styles they are interested in learning.

Students often ask how long it will take to learn to play a Guitar. What they should also reveal to the teacher are the three main reasons that excites them to learn to play.
