Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Eddie works with students to identify their goals and build lesson plans around their interests. For beginning students, traditional instructional methods are presented alongside methods that make learning music fun, like playing chords and singing songs. Lessons are always adapted to each student’s skill level and personal goals and Eddie's happy to help students learn their favorite songs and adapt the arrangements to a student’s current skill level.
For beginning students, Eddie employs a song-based approach where students learn chords and learn to perform entire songs right from the start. Students are also introduced to note reading, music theory, ear training, music history, and cultural studies as part of a holistic style of music education. Eddie teaches all ages and skill levels, and no two lessons are alike.
For advanced students, Eddie offers tons of advice on composition/songwriting, ear training, technique, sight-reading, and improvisation. With music lessons with Eddie, you will collaborate to refine your current skills, develop creativity, and explore your artistic potential.
